It's so hard being a Knicks fan...

I've been a NY Knicks fan for about 16 years maybe... and it's hard right now. The Knicks, as presently configured, show some promise, but they're heavily injured and defensively weak.

Since Isiah Thomas took over as president of basketball operations, things have looked a lot better than where they were during the terrible Scott Layden years. New Yorkers are an impatient bunch, and everybody is jumping on Isiah for the current team's problems. But where Scott Layden had no clue and no eye for talent, Isiah has excellent basketball IQ; yet even he will need at least 5 years to get the Knicks out of the salary cap nightmare Layden put the Knicks in.

To my memory, I can't remember when was the last time the Knicks were ever fully healthy all in one piece. I know injuries are part of the game, but I have to wonder if this man is doing his job properly anymore. He seems to be a nice guy, and he's been around for a long while... But if a team is constantly enduring injuries and overall isn't terribly quick or athletic, I have to question what conditioning and stretching and training regimen is being put into place especially these past few years. Is it overtraining? Undertraining? Overstretching? Understretching? Having talented players is great, but they're of no use to you if they're on the bench and on the injured list.

Oh well, perhaps there's the lottery.
